ShareA Prospects First: Matt Welsh, World Champion

Prospects well represented at World U17 Hockey Championship.Congratulations to goaltender Matt Welsh (Charlottetown, QMJHL) for being a part of Team Canada White who defeated Russia 6-2 and claim the World U17 Hockey Championship, taking place in Dawson Creek, BC.
During the tournament Matt defeated Russia 3-2 in exhibition play, while in round robin play Matt also defeated Team Canada Black 5-3 and lost to Czech Republic 3-2. Matt's goals against average was 2.67 and save percentage of .914. These are incredible results. Way to go Matt!
Also in the tournament was Shane Bowers (Waterloo, USHL) who was selected as the captain of Team Canada Black and Walter Flower (Halifax, QMJHL) who was a member of the 4th place Team Canada Red.
Caoch Naugler is absolutely thrilled for these three fantastic young men.
