07 Prospects Bring Home Silver at Oyster Cup

After losing their first game of the tournament 2-1 to the 2-Line Warriors,  the 07 Prospects improved each following game achieving great results over some good competition.
In a very one-sided matchup, they dominated rival NS Stars 7-2 on Friday night to get back on track.  They followed this success with a 5-1 win over the Acadia Selects and an 8-3 victory of the NB ice to finish up the round robin.

After finishing 1st in their division, they were matched up against the host Andrew's Riptide.  After the Prospects dominated the first 2 3/4 periods and established a
3-0 lead, the Riptide showed great character in battling back to finish just short.  The Prospects were off to the final after a 3-2 victory.

The finals would be a rematch of their first game loss to the Warriors who had gone undefeated in the round robin and appeared to be clear favorites.  Our boys battled hard and came out swinging, taking a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Just when if felt like we had them on their heels, the Warriors showed their talents in the 2nd, battling back to produce a tie game, 3-3 after 2 periods.  

After scoring a PP goal in the first minute of the 3rd, the Warriors held on to win an amazing hockey game 5-3.

We are so proud of our boys and their efforts all weekend long.  They battled their hearts out and fought till the end.  New friendships were formed and many lessons were learned.

We are looking forward to our next tournament, the East Coast Ice Battle in Moncton
