U18 Christmas Classic Cancelled

At this time we regret to announce that due to an entity beyond our control, the Nova Scotia Prospects U18 Christmas Classic has been cancelled. We worked very diligently at trying to provide an opportunity for high school-aged hockey players to play the game they love in the face of opportunities that were lost due to circumstances beyond their control and that should never impact them. Unfortunately not all sporting entities share our belief that student athletes shouldn’t pay a price for the labour unrest between the NSTU and the provincial government. Every effort should be made to support student athletes and to minimize the impact of this labour unrest on their athletic pursuits. It appears that lots of people are willing to pay that sentiment lip service but when it comes to those that try to actually do something about it, there is not a helping hand offered but rather impossible obstacles are put in place.
 
We wish all of the high school hockey players in Nova Scotia the best of luck in all of their future hockey endeavours and sincerely hope that the NSTU and provincial government reach an agreement before an entire season is lost.
