2002 Development Program Being Offered.

2009-01-22

A Little Prospects Spring Development Group is being offered for the spring 2009 development season.

Good afternoon to all,

The Nova Scotia Hockey Prospects Development Program is pleased to offer our spring development program for 2002 aged players.

Our Prospects program is well known as the finest development program available in Atlantic Canada and we are excited to offer this opportunity to a Little Prospects group. We have been delivering a winter development program for 2002 players, which has gone exceptionally well, and will be bringing our winning formula to the spring development season.

The group will take part in 24 hours of individual skill development delivered by Scott Welsh and Thane Hughes. Scott has been a coach for the Halifax Hawks atom AAA and peewee AAA team the past three years. He has helped guide the Hawks to consecutive Provincial championships. Scott is currently the lead instructor for the top ranked peewee AAA team in Atlantic Canada. Thane is a well known goaltending instructor as well as being an assistant coach with TASA atom AAA and peewee AAA teams during the past 3 years. Thane is also the general manager and assistant coach with the Bay Ducks Jr. B hockey team. The level of knowledge and instruction for our 2002 players is the best to be found.

Players will work hard on developing their skills in skating, stick handling, passing and shooting. They will take part in small area games, battle games, progressing into full ice flow drills and also intra squad instructional scrimmages (both cross ice and full ice). As we all know it is the reinforcement and overexposure to a player's individuals skills which will lead to immense progress in hockey, and is the focus of hockey development for all hockey nations. We want players to have the opportunity for the puck to be on their stick all of the time. Having players of this age involved in full ice, official games will lead to very few touches of the puck and a lack of development in hockey. We want to give players and their families the most impact for their money.

Our progam is filling quickly with players from around Metro Halifax, including several from TASA, but we still have a few spots remaining.

Please contact Todd Barter for more informaton.
