Kirk Tomlinson Wins Coach Of The Year Award

2009-02-02

Head Coach of the 99 Prospects wins the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League's Coach Of The Year Award.

Kirk Tomlinson, the Head Coach of our 99 Prospects, has won the 2008-2009 Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League's Coach Of The Year Award as the Head Coach of the Halifax McDonald's Major Midget Hockey Team.

Kirk inherited a Halifax McDonald's team who had finished in 7th place of 8 teams after the 2006-2007 season and having gained only 23 points. In Kirk's first year, 2007-2008, as Head Coach of the Macs he guided the team to a 5th place finish with 37 points.

The current year, 2008-2009, is Coach Tomlinson's second season at the helm of the McDonald's. He has lead the team to a second place overall finish and 54 points.

In Kirk's short time with the McDonald's he has done an amazing job and sped his team to the top, considered to be one of the best Major Midget teams in Eastern Canada.

The Prospects already know how fortunate we are to have Coach Tomlinson work with our players. The tangible evidence can be seen in the overall improved skill development of our players and the great success enjoyed by the team.

Congratulations to Kirk.
