2011 Spring Development Season Wrap Up

2011-06-05

Our Prospects organization enjoyed a fantastic development season!

Our development organization is very excited by the success we saw this spring.

Our successes looked many different ways this spring. During our development sessions (on-ice and off-ice) our players increased their intensity and battle level, they improved their skating and skill abilities, they raised their strength, conditioning, agility, and speed, and the players drastically improved their hockey IQ under the direction of the highest performing coaching staff in Atlantic Canada.

It was due to the successes experienced by our players during their development sessions that, in turn, lead to successes during game play.

Our 2004 Prospects were formed this spring as a development group. We are very excited to have this group now become our newest travelling team in 2012.

Our 2003 went three for three in Atlantic Canada tournament gold medals. The team record was a staggering 15-0 against Atlantic teams. The 03s also progressed to the quarter-finals of the Montreal Meltdown against some of the best 03s in North America.

Our newest travel team, the 2002 Prospects posted a record of 6-5-2 in 3 Atlantic Canada tournaments with a silver medal. We are very excited about the direction this team will be taking for 2012.

The 2001 Prospects were another dominating team in the Prospects stable. The team won 3 golds in 3 Atlantic Canada tournaments with a record of 15-0-1.

The 2000 Prospects entered two Atlantic Canada tournaments and came away with a silver and a bronze. Their overall record was 7-3-1.

Our final travelling team is the 99 Prospects. They also had a dominating development season against Atlantic Canadian teams. In two tournaments (Andrew's Hockey and Atlantic Hockey Group) they claimed 2 gold medals and had a record of 8-0-3. The 99s also went to the Montreal Meltdown and posted a 2-2 round robin record but did not proceed into the play-offs.

In all our Prospects teams entered 13 age groups in Atlantic Canadian tournaments. In those 13 age groups we claimed 8 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. The overall tournament record against Atlantic Canadian teams was 51-8-7.

The U14 Prospects was primarily a development group to prepare the players for the Hockey Nova Scotia High Performance Program and Major Bantam ID Camps. This group also played two exhibition games against the PEI Riptide and came away with 2 wins by a toal score of 8-4.

This brought the spring game totals to an amazing 53-8-7.

The 97 Prospects were also a development group who spent their development time preparing for the HNS HPP. This is the original Prospects team. This very talented group of players are busy getting ready for their upcoming Major Bantam seasons and eventually Major Midget and Prep Schools before the Q and MHL drafts in a couple of years.

We are very proud to have highly skilled and dedicated players in our program. Our families are enthusiastic and committed to the Prospects philosophy of development first, and we are very fortunate to have, without a doubt, the most intense and knowledgable coaching staff in Atlantic Canada.

We have the best players, working with the best coaches, in the best development program in Atlantic Canada!
