DEAR PROSPECTS

Please make every effort to make this event (game) if for no other reason help support Tom’s fight with Cancer and make a small donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED ARTICLE

Tom Lee is our assistant coach at Saint Mary’s and was forced to take the season off for cancer treatment. Tom has 5 kids, Tyler, Samantha, Cameron, and twin girls Sierra and Julia. Tom has done more in his community at 47 than most people could dream of. His goodwill, leadership, mentoring and involvement in all community aspects has been fueled by his compassion and love to help others. The hockey team alone has felt a huge void in all our lives without being around his constant “love of life” and wanting to help other peoples live around him better.

Tom will drop the puck (as he is 100 days passed the date of his bone marrow transplant he had in the fall) Feb 7th at the Halifax Forum as the SMU Huskies take on the first place Acadia Axemen. Tom has fought this disease for ten years and has been told twice he would not make it. The fight is never over but Tom is winning. We will hopefully have him joined by a young man Liam Welsh (in dropping ceremonial pucks) that is the poster child for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and has been fighting  a similar fight. To have the opportunity to recognize these two outstanding people and help them and others that fight this wicked disease is a great opportunity and act of support from all of us.

I know it is easier to stay at home on a Feb night but we want to fill the Forum as all minor hockey associations and St. Agnes Jr High School have joined in our fight to prove our community’s compassion. I also think it will be an incredible experience and lesson to all the young people in attendance (our kids) that there is hope and there is compassion in us all and it is truly powerful in numbers and can work.

Please consider looking at the flyer and attending this event….PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO ANY AND ALL CONTACTS THAT WOULD CONSIDER THIS

Yours Truly

TYLER
