Prospects Strike Gold Twice!

Congratulations to the 1999 Nova Scotia Prospects for bringing home the gold medal at the 2008 UNB V-Red Prospects Challenge Cup. The '99 NS Prospects defeated the V-Reds 6-2, Moncton Jr. Wildcats 13-2, Target Force 4-0, and Portland Top Dog 8-1 in their round robin games. This set up a re-match with the '99 V-Red team in the championship. Despite a slow start the 99's rounded into top form and cruised to a 7-3 victory. The coaching staff are extremely proud of the players for their incredible desire and very unselfish play all weekend. Our '99 Prospects are now 6-0 in their spring season, outscoring their opponents 37-7.

The '97 NS Prospects also had a very successful weekend in Fredericton to bring home the gold in their age division. The '97 NS Prospects defeated Target Force 9-0, V-Reds 5-4, Jr. Wildcats 7-0, and the Top Dog 5-3 in round robin play. The Portland team was not able to field a complete team and had several peewee AAA players filling in. In the final it was again a V-Reds-NS Prospects match up with our Prospects bringing home a 6-3 win in a very fast and physical gold medal game. Our '97 Prospects are now 6-0 in their spring season, outscoring their opponents 43-7.
