The 2008 Atlantic Canada Top Prospects Challenge saw another medal haul for the Nova Scotia Hockey Prospects Program!
Our very own Atlantic Canada Top Prospects Challenge saw our 1999 team go undefeated through the three round robin games and outscore their opponents 14-2. In the semi-final match up the Prospects faced the always tough NS Selects and came away with a 5-2 win. This set up a championship game with the UNB V-Red Prospects out of Fredericton, New Brunswick. The final game was a back and forth event, which saw our '99 NS Prospects never really get their game rolling as we have come to expect, but still went down to the very last tick on the clock and the NS Propsects pressing. Unfortunately time ran out and the NS Prospects came out on the losing end of a 2-1 game. Congratulations to the V-Red on their tournament victory. In the 5 tournament games our NS Prospects outscored their opponents 20-6.
During the spring development season the '99 NS Prospects finished 13-3-1 overall and a gold, a silver, and a bronze to show for their 3 tournaments entered. The 99's outscored their opponents 99-39 in 17 games.
Our 1997 team also went undefeated through the round robin games, defeated Target Force Hockey in the semi-final to set up another NS Prospects-UNB V-Red Prospects final. The final was over before it started and the '97 NS Prospects came away with a convincing 10-0 gold medal win to finish the spring season as the most dominant '97 team in Atlantic Canada, and one of the top '97 teams in Eastern Canada.
During the spring development season the '97 Prospects finished with an overall 16-2 record and 2 tournaments wins and a silver medal in their 3 tournaments entered. The 97's outscored their opponents 125-51.
Congratulations to both teams for the enormous growth and development observed by our coaching staff of your individual skills and ability to play within a team concept.
